Brave Adds Optional And Security Focused AI To Your Browser

Published:

Completely Optional, As It Should Be!

The Brave browser is an alternative for those utterly fed up with the data harvesting which the three major browsers now all love to do.  There was some news about Brave at Bleeping Computer which includes the phrase AI, which is likely to scare those using Brave.  There is good news though!  The AI feature is not infecting the browser, instead it is a completely optional feature which is accessed via search.brave.com/ask and will work on any browser.  Those using the Brave browser can also invoke it by adding two question marks to the end of a search, should you so desire.

Brave is jumping on the AI bandwagon but not in the intrusive manner which most are using, instead it’s just a search engine which can effectively respond to natural language.  It doesn’t replace AI Answers, which Brave created a couple of years back and it isn’t something you have to use.   Brave is stating that the chats are encrypted, conversations aren’t used for AI training, and they are deleted after 24 hours of inactivity.  They also do not capture your IP address, so as advertised this is going to be one of the least horrible AI search engines.
